For this game, the two Cirque MVPs were easily Mania and Inde. They both lead the team with 14 kills (Mania went 14-3 and Inde went 14-2 in Kill-Death ratio). All the other Cirques chipped in with some timely kills, and even more useful communication. The Cirque strategy worked well for this match, and were able to keep together as a unit which grealy reduces the chance of accidental team betrayals. Once the Cirques were able to get control of their designated areas once and for all, they all were able to keep DTH out of our turf. For DTH, Mick16 was very stealthy and he demonstrated his skills at Hardcore to deadly effect. This match was close with the final scoreline looking a little larger because of the air supremacy enjoyed by the Cirques at the crucial time of the game. I think everyone can be proud of their efforts in this one.
Match score: DTH: 1 Cirques: 3
Game 5: VIP on Countdown (no air support; no kill cam; no Overkill perk; only VIPs can have sniper rifles; VIPs in ghillie suits. Friendly fire enabled) Score: Cirques win 9 VIP kills to 4 VIP kills. Brief Game Summation: Hide and Seek, but with automatic weapons.
For the final game, DTH got to pick spawn, and ended up choosing SAS spawn. Cirques got to be Spetsnaz. This game ended up being a massive game of hide and seek but with automatic weapons. ThereÕs smoke everywhere, people are shooting at you, grenades going off all aroundÉbut despite all that, you have to find somebody dressed up like a bush hiding somewhere on the map.
The only kills that counted in this gametype were of the 2 VIP per side (who were both dressed as Snipers in Ghillie suits to make them stand out). Apparently the Cirques played a lot of ÒHide & SeekÓ as children, and managed to pull out a win in a wild gametype. The Cirques' prep work of the map paid off, as they managed to hide their VIPs pretty successfully for roughly the majority of the game prior to DTH finding them.
With two designated defenders and two designated hunters, the Cirques happened upon the DTH VIPs often enough to squeeze out a win. Once both VIPs were flushed, the random respawns seemed to work in the Cirques favor, as they quickly built up a lead that they never relinquished.
Kudos for this game go out to Bloke and Freight, for not only admirably impersonating bushes, but for doing so in so many secret places. It must have been so tempting to open fire at DTH players who were trying to locate you, but you both showed amazing willpower in resisting the temptation. I've already heard that both of you had solid kills that you passed up so you could remain hidden. I think that strategy helped us win, as a couple of times, DTH VIPs were located because they had taken one of us down and that person was able to report where the shooter was. For DTH, Mick16 was a beast, racking up by far the most kills. Luckily for the Cirques, most of them were of the non-VIP kind. He had a willing accomplice in Studio, and the other DTHers were strong in support. The two DTH VIPs, Krieg and NikSmudge, were very effective with their sniper rifles.
Final match score: DTH: 1 Cirques 4
The Cirques would like to thank GrnMtnDragon and his DTH unit for such a fun night of slaying, stealth and mayhem. Everyone who got to participate in this match had a good time, and it was an invaluable experience to all who participated. Everyone was able to take a fond memory from the game, and a good time was had by all. Grn was in a tough situation, being one of the founders of DTH, but also a Cirque. I'm sure he is relieved this one is over and he can now hook up with his clanmates and not have to worry about interrupting strategy talks. The Cirques in turn got to make new COD4 allies and friends, and this skirmish will only be viewed as a win-win for both camps as everyone got to experience a LFE done Geezer style.
Good games, everyone.
Note: A big thanks to Inde for helping me with recalling some of the content. I'd welcome any suggestions for the MVPs/kudos for DTH or even for CdG, as with no stats or game pages to review, its hard to remember who stood out and I'd like to give praise and accolades where they are due.
