Thanks to everyone who attended our first Cirquetacular event on April 12th. We saw many old faces
(Phoenixes, GGSE) and some new faces (TTL). Most of all, we all had fun.
The gametypes were very entertaining and player friendly and thanks to an awesome Cirquetacular coordinator,
the rooms were arranged to ensure that no team was unbalanced. The rotation between the rooms was effortless
and overall, the event was very well coordinated.
Oddball on Standoff: With Rockets
I'd like to thank my team of AylaatHeart, GamergirlSB and Aberaham who provided me with lots of laughs and
giggles during this game (Yes, I can say giggles, I'm a girl). Aberaham quickly figured out where to go hide
with the ball and we followed him blindly. Our foe was A Mad Bloke's team of Phatster, Tigey and ThePacifier.
All of who were obviously modding because that's the ONLY way they could have won against us. Plus I was totally
surprised to actually hear Phatster talk, so that was a great diversion tactic that they employed against us.
And I did hear Bloke say "haha, I beat Kit down in a rocket game". Pac was analyzing strategic spots to fire
his rocket launchers while the rest of us adopted a "jump now, ask questions" policy. Nice!
Spikeball on Sandtrap
Our second game was against ErickBob's team consisting of TTL mvusakali, XX Quasar XX and KOKItten.
After prepping everyone to inform them that should anyone cross over the middle barrier,
they'd be shotdown by a shotgun and tbagged, we started up the game, only to find that our starting weopan
was a plasma pistol. Oh well, details, shmetails. We quickly adopted a strategy of "staying back so Aberaham
can score all of the kills" but alas, this did not work out well for me. I was delighted however to stick
KOKitten finally...but on her toe! However, a stick is a stick. Aberaham and Ayla in the
meantime were jumping around in glee throwing all types of crap at the other team, rocks on the floor,
caterpillars...Thanks for the game Mvusakali, Quasar and KoKitten!
Molemen on Snowman
Against Adumbration's team of GGSE Jon Doe (GGSE in Da HOUSE!), LouisQCI and Indefensible.
I think the goal was to capture the the flag, but Aberaham discovered the flame thrower and thought it
would be more fun to set things on fire. It was a fire sale. Seriously. You name it, he burnt it.
And this was before we discovered the napalm grenades! I have no idea what Jon Doe thought, we pulled him into the game mid-way,
but I did hear comments such as "is there no other way to get out of here?" and "is there a flag in this game"
in between Aberaham's excited voice as he set someone else on fire. Way to go team! Adum, Louis and Inde did an
excellent job of holding us back and both sides did finally manage to get the flag. Once. Oh, and we had a
couple of betrayals also, by Ayla, Jon Doe and Inde....oops!
Crazy King on Construct
Against The Dihn, SargeSammydacat and Dumpster Tom. Otherwise known as TEAM W. Dihn was very excited to
hear that shotguns were his secondary weapon, and I knew that it was not going to be good.
I think there was an objective goal to that game, but I just ran around the map trying to kill Dihn yelling
"I killed DIHN!". Sargesammy and Dumpster Tom also proved very formidable and very fun people!
Assault on Rats Nest: Invisible Carrier
Played against F1at1ineds team of 6 including MeMyselfandI, Daiths Reaper, HellnPain, TTL Milk and
shortbloke79. We evened up the teams so Flatlined jumped ship. We let TTL Milk and Aberaham duke
it out while the rest of us tried to figure out what was going on. Daith and Shortbloke stayed up till 3am to play with
us! And they managed to play very well too! How much caffeine did you guys drink? It was very good to meet you guys
and we're glad that you found geezergamers! Self and Hellnpain were doing a great job holding their own, you gals were great!
Dodgeball King on Foundary: Dodging crates and barrels!
Lots of laughing in this game as we quickly figured out that there was a big HOLE in the middle platform that we could
fall out of. We played against RevdotNed's team of Wolverine1972, Xzzy and Mania76. All of whom got hit by a barrel
at least once. We know this as we were laughing when we saw them get hit by a barrel. They'd be running towards us,
guns blazing, and we'd see them just get hit by a barrel and fall down. This gametype was probably one of the funniest
that I've played on.
Bots on High Ground: Everyone invisible!
Against Alphawolf 45's team consisting of Sleeveen, Fersboo, and War1n. This was my first game with Fersboo and was
delighted to meet him and also to hook up with War1n again from COD4. Alpha has informed me that he shot Fersboo
in the back of the head with a shotgun on the molemen game. I see you've met my husband. Anyway, this game was a bit freaky as the bots would
turn towards us, and it was hard spotting the invisible guys, but when we did, it was a sudden rush to kill the
visible guy! Lots of laughter and lots of fun.
So again, we'd like to thank everyone that participated. We had a great turnout and hope to replicate this again in another event. As you saw, this event was very well organized (no thanks to me, thanks to the other people who did all the hard work!) and teams were predetermined ahead of time in order to ensure that it would be easy to move around from room to room, so it was key to show up at 10pm in order to get things going, so we really do appreciate everyone who was able to make it. It was a great opportunity to meet other people outside of our clan, and in some cases, outside of Geezergamers, so we hope that you had as much fun as we did.
