As many of you may already know, we recently wrapped up our biggest Cirquetacular yet. Read on to find out what sorts of madness transpired.
Cirquetacular IV
A 12 day long contest, comprised of 16 different events, spread over 4 seperate rounds of competition and custom game zaniness. This time around, 25 teams joined in the fray. All of the usual GGN suspects were present, as well as some newcomers to the unique brand of chaos to be found in our Big Tent. The contenders this time around were: 8 Bit Bridgade 3 teams from Army of the Republic (Flatline 1, Flatline 2, and AoR Nightcap) 2 teams from Cirque D Geezers (the Inglorious Blasterds and Rev's Rough Riders) Gaming By Grace 2 teams from Geezer Gamer's (the ignobly named Dead Rocket Whores and Clan Elysium) 3 teams from GrifballHub.com (Bomb, Hammer, ... June 14th was Flag Day, and what better way to celebrate a day of Flags than to have a Cirquetacular where flag grabbing was the order of the day? Eight teams signed up for this event: Praetoria Guard, Buddy System Gaming, 8-Bit Brigade, WillClan4Food, Spirits of Fire, Allies FTW, and two Cirque teams, dubbed Team Awesome and Team Stinky. What transpired??? Read on!
What: Cirquetacular III - A Fistful Of Flags When: Sunday, June 14th, 2009 Where: Xbox Live Why: Because "All Your Flag Are Belong To Us" How: As always, the sun rested low on the horizon of Sandbox. The "white zone" on The Pit continued to be for loading & unloading only. Rats scurried about the empty shipping containers on Rat's Nest. Silence reigned. Then Blue and Red flags suddenly appeared, and the digital realms brac ... F1at1ined and SassiGrrl drove down to the LAN from upstate New York, arriving first and leaving last to help with the prep and packing up of the LAN. Here is F1at's journal of their trip.
Road Trip!!
We made the trip in a Hyundai Tucson. We hoped to drive down in this,
However, it failed inspection, and we felt the machine gun might draw the attention of too many cops! Tuesday March 17th 6pm EST We finish up work, load up the car, collect the mother in law, and we set off on our car drive to NC. Leaving Albany and its cold weather is going to be sweet. We have a bit of heavy traffic around the area, but we're soon out on the open road, and the traffic g ... KitKatGrrl and Alphawolf45 opened their doors to their fellow Cirque friends and family towards the end of March 2009, and apparently don't regret it one bit. A LANtastic time was had by all!
Kit's Summary of the first Official Cirque LAN party
I know Flat is doing a journal of his trip, but I wanted to do a summary of the entire weekend. Flat and Sassi on Wednesday to help with the set up and brought lots of goodies with them. Sassi had ordered M&M’s with “CdG LAN March 2009” and "Cirque Tastic" written on them. It was awesome. She’d also provided us with Halo 3 cups where you could write your gamertag on which we used the entire weekend….oh and special boxes of “Godavia” chocolate just for Bren ...
Thanks to everyone who attended our first Cirquetacular event on April 12th. We saw many old faces (Phoenixes, GGSE) and some new faces (TTL). Most of all, we all had fun.
The gametypes were very entertaining and player friendly and thanks to an awesome Cirquetacular coordinator, the rooms were arranged to ensure that no team was unbalanced. The rotation between the rooms was effortless and overall, the event was very well coordinated.
Oddball on Standoff: With Rockets I'd like to thank my team of AylaatHeart, GamergirlSB and Aberaham who provided me with lots of laughs and giggles during this game (Yes, I can say giggles, I'm a girl). Aberaham quickly figured out where to go hide with the ball and we followed him blindly. Our foe was A Mad Bloke's team of Phatster, Tigey and ThePacifier. All of who were obviously modding because that's the ONLY way they could have won against us. Pl ...
